If you need to monitor 1 or 2 specific gases, the Micro 5 is the best choice. It can be equipped with either one or two electrochemical sensors, allowing you to reliably detect a variety of toxic gases, oxygen or hydrogen in different measuring ranges. The Micro 5 is approved for use in Ex zone 0. Its small and lightweight, yet still very durable design offers the best possible combination of safety and comfort to anybody carrying it. The measured values, types of gas, measuring ranges and charging status of the battery can be read on the display at any point. A single alkaline battery will power the device for up to three months of continuous operating time. If a dangerous gas concentration is detected, the Micro 5 will warn you using a visual, acoustic and vibration alarm.
Sometimes you already know which specific gas will pose a potential risk. If you need to monitor carbon monoxide, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide or hydrogen specifically, a one gas detector is an adequate and cost-effective solution. Our Micro 5 G222E offers an additional slot for a second electrochemical sensor to monitor the oxygen concentration in addition to a toxic gas or H2. You can also combine sensors for different toxic gases or use to sensors for the same gas but in different measuring ranges, depending on what is required in your application.
Handy, durable and reliable
Our priorities in designing the Micro 5 G222E were safety and wearing comfort. Since it is approved for hazardous ATEX environments as well as mining, there are no limits to the areas of application it can be used in. The housing is made of rubberized plastic and is protected against the ingress of dust and water (IP54; soon IP68). With its small size and low weight of a maximum of 115 g, anyone wearing it can easily forget it’s there at all, even when working in confined spaces – unless, of course, it is warning them of dangerous gas concentrations. No alarm will go unnoticed, even in loud environments or areas with low visibility, as the Micro 5 uses its loud buzzer (103 db(A)), highly visible alarm LEDs and vibrations to signal them.
For 1 or 2 toxic gases, H2 or O2
The Micro 5 G222E is equipped with one or two EC sensors, depending on your requirements. These allow it to selectively monitor one or two toxic gases, hydrogen or oxygen. A list of all measured gases and their corresponding measuring ranges can be found at the bottom of this page. The sensors are durable and reliable. For the daily bump test, a calibration cap for inserting the test gas is easily be attached to detector. The internal data logger can be read out using the smart calibration cap, a PC connected via USB cable and our Config software. A DS400 orDS404 docking station is used to calibrate and adjust the Micro 5.
Durable and suitable for everyday use
The Micro 5's LC display shows the measured gas concentrations as well as the type of gas and unit. The status of the battery is also visible at any point. The display can be rotated by 180 degrees at the press of a button, to facilitate reading the displayed information when the device is fastened to work clothes using the crocodile clip. The Micro 5 is powered by a single battery, providing enough energy for nine months use (at 10-hour work days) or 90 days continuous operation time. It can be replaced quickly, ensuring that the gas detector is ready to use again in less than a minute.
Versions for other gases and vapors
The Micro 5 G222E is the first model in the Micro 5 series. GfG have three more versions planned for future release, to enable you to measure even more combinations of toxic and combustible gases and VOCs as well as CO2:
G222C with one electrochemical and one catalytic combustion sensor
G222P with one electrochemical and one PID sensor
G222I with one electrochemical and one infrared sensor
